Condition, notes, and Best copy
Two copies of the same ornament are not interchangeable. Condition and notes record what is true about each physical object.
Condition choices
BaubleStash uses these labels:
- Mint
- Excellent
- Good
- Fair
- Poor
- Not specified
These are your own descriptions. BaubleStash does not grade ornaments, appraise them, or set a resale value.
Use Not specified when you do not want to judge. Use notes for details such as “small chip on the base” or “box has water damage.”

Notes that are useful later
- Where and when you bought it
- Who gave it to you
- Repairs or missing pieces
- Whether the original box is included
- Which side of the box has the label
- Why one copy is your favorite
Keep notes about the physical copy with that copy, not on the design. The design record is shared; your copy notes are private.
Best copy
Best copy is a designation for one preferred physical copy of a design. It is shown as a green Best copy badge on copy rows in the mobile app.
When a Best copy has a primary photo, BaubleStash prefers that photo for the ornament’s representative image in My Stash.
Changing the Best copy
You can change which copy is Best:
- Mobile app: open the copy, turn on Best copy, and save.
- Website: open the ornament, edit the physical copy, and tick Make this my Best copy of this ornament.
Only one copy of an ornament can be the Best copy. Choosing a different copy clears the previous choice; it does not change condition, notes, box or photos. You can also turn the designation off so no copy is marked Best.
