The mobile app
The mobile app is the best choice when you are with your ornaments. It can scan barcodes and box labels, take photos, and keep working offline after a sync.
The four main areas
The bottom navigation has four tabs:
- My Stash
- Scan
- Boxes
- More
My Stash
The mobile layout uses large cards, a prominent Scan action, and a search field. The examples in this help center use the web interface where a screen is identical in purpose; labels may be arranged differently on a phone.
My Stash shows your ornaments, ownership counts, storage boxes, and a search field.
Common actions:
- Add ornament — create a private ornament.
- Share my stash — invite someone if you have active Plus.
- Scan — open the scanner from the top card.
- Search by name, maker, series, year, item number, condition, or box.
- Open an ornament to see releases and physical copies.
Scan
The Scan screen handles ornament barcodes and box labels.
- Point the camera at a code.
- Use the flashlight for dark storage areas.
- Type a barcode, item number, or code if the camera cannot read it.
- Review the result before adding a copy.
The app never opens a QR code’s website automatically.
Boxes
Boxes represents your real storage containers.
- Create a box
- Scan a box label
- Open a box to see its contents
- Add an ornament to a box
- Edit the box name, location, or private note
The mobile app does not generate a printable label PDF. Use the website for that.

The More tab contains account and plan controls:

Development-only diagnostics appear only in development builds and are not part of the customer experience.
Ornament and copy screens
Open an ornament to see:
- Its maker, series, item number, and private status
- Releases
- Your copies
- Photos and condition
- Buttons to add another copy or suggest catalog information
Open a copy to see or edit:
- Release
- Box
- Condition
- Notes
- Photos
Photos
Mobile photos are stored on the phone. On Free, they are not uploaded to BaubleStash. On Plus, you can enable cloud backup.
Use photo types such as Ornament, Packaging front, and Packaging back to keep photos organized.
Offline behavior
After a successful sync, you can use My Stash, boxes, scanning of saved codes, and local photos without a connection.
The app shows a status banner when changes are waiting to sync or when syncing fails. See What works offline.
Current limitations
- No printable label PDF on the device.
- No remove-copy button in the current copy screen.
- No profile editor for display name or email.
- More → Account & data offers local photo export, cloud/account download and deliberate deletion. Backups expire within 30 days; minimal audit and necessary financial records follow their disclosed retention periods. See Export and account deletion.
- Plus purchasing only when store products are configured.
- No Librarian catalog-review screen.
