What BaubleStash does
BaubleStash is an ornament inventory for collectors. It keeps a private record of the ornaments in your home so you can find them, avoid buying duplicates, and remember what belongs to which storage box.
You can organize your stash on the website. The iPhone, iPad, and Android apps are in development and are not yet available as public store downloads. Camera scanning and offline access are mobile app features. See Mobile, web, or both? for the differences.
It is not a store, a price guide, or a professional appraisal. Condition labels are your own notes, not a valuation.
The four things you will use most
My Stash is your private list of ornaments. It shows what you own, how many physical copies you have, and where they are stored.
Scan, in the mobile app, checks a recognized ornament barcode or a linked box label. An unknown code does not stop you from adding an ornament by name. On the website, use search or open a box from Boxes.
Boxes represent real storage places: a bin, a shelf, a tote, or a closet. A box can be linked to a printed BaubleStash label or almost any distinct scannable code.
Photos help you recognize an ornament and its packaging later. Free photos stay on your phone and do not appear on the website. With Plus, turn on Cloud Photo Backup to view photos across your signed-in devices. Backup is optional. Keep a separate copy of important phone-only photos in case the phone is lost or the app is removed.
Every ornament belongs
Every maker is welcome, including handmade ornaments and keepsakes whose maker is unknown. You can add an ornament with just a name; a barcode, original packaging, or catalog match is not required.
You can also keep track of different years and editions. Unknown details can stay unknown.
One design, many real ornaments
BaubleStash separates the ornament design from the physical copies you own.
- The design is the shared idea: “Snowflake Angel, 2019, Hallmark.”
- A physical copy is one real object in your home. It has its own condition, notes, box, and photos.
If you own the same ornament three times, you have one design and three copies. My Stash shows You own 3. Each copy can be in a different box or have different packaging.
Mark your Best copy to remember which one you prefer. Use notes for a small chip, missing packaging, or who gave it to you. See Condition, notes, and Best copy.
Bring an existing list
The website provides a spreadsheet template for adding many ornaments. Save it as a CSV file, review the preview, and confirm before anything is added. You can also download your list from Import & Export. See Import and export ornaments with CSV.
Start free or choose Plus
Free includes up to 100 physical copies. Three copies of the same ornament count as three. Search, boxes, printable labels, and website import/export are included.
Plus removes the 100-copy limit and adds optional private cloud-photo backup and Share my stash. Invite someone to view your stash or help update condition and notes; they can use a free account. Invited people can see cloud photos for the ornaments you share. See Free versus Plus and Invitations and permissions.
Private by default
Your inventory is private to your account. The shared catalog is a separate, public reference. Nothing moves from your private stash into the shared catalog without two things:
- You deliberately select catalog details or a photo to contribute.
- A Librarian reviews and approves the contribution.
Private photos are never published automatically.
What the shared catalog is for
The shared catalog helps collectors identify ornaments that BaubleStash already knows about. It is built from manufacturer details, release information, barcode evidence, and approved contributions.
If an ornament is missing, you can still use it. Create a private ornament and contribute it later if you want to help other collectors.
What BaubleStash does not promise
- It does not know every ornament ever made.
- It does not guarantee that a barcode identifies one exact release.
- It does not replace your phone’s own backup.
- It does not sell ornaments or set their value.
- It does not keep cloud photos forever after a Plus plan ends; see Subscriptions and retention.
