How boxes work
A BaubleStash box is a real storage place. It might be a plastic tote, a cardboard carton, a shelf, a drawer, or a closet.
A box is not the ornament’s original manufacturer packaging. The original box is part of the ornament’s history; a storage box is where you keep it.
What a box can hold
- A name
- A location
- A private note
- Any number of physical ornament copies
- A linked scannable label
A copy can be in only one storage box at a time.
Create a box

Mobile app
- Open Boxes.
- Select Create a box.
- Enter a Box name.
- Add a Location and Private note if useful.
- Select Create box.
Website

Name boxes for future you
Months from now, “Box 3” may mean nothing. Use a name that includes where the box lives:
Hall closet — Box 1Garage shelf — Red toteUnder-bed box AChristmas Room — Village bin
If you have dozens of identical containers, write the same name on the physical label and keep the location specific.

The box page shows its contents, location, notes, and label status.
Use a label or skip it
A label is optional. It makes a physical box scannable, but you can always find the box by name in the app.
A label can be:
- A printed BaubleStash QR label
- A third-party sticker
- A unique code already on the container
- A code cut from packaging, as long as it is distinct and scannable
Within one BaubleStash collection, one code can belong to only one box.
Original packaging is different
Keep the manufacturer’s box, tag, or packaging details with the ornament if they matter to you. Use packaging photos to remember what the original packaging looked like.
Do not throw away original packaging just because the ornament is in a storage box.
